Want to proceed with Cascade?

Information for your Operations group:

Create a completely electronic CoW process with electronic PTW on iSafe tablets.  All associated checklists, certificates and additional documents are available from within Cascade.  If your site uses paper, that works too.  Print permits on just about any printer and up to tabloid size paper.

Cascade helps manage energy isolation and planning using predefined rules that regulate the approvers required for an isolation task.  Gates are employed to require approvals on isolation documents before permits can be issues and work can begin.  P&IDs are created directly in the tool.

Manage Simultaneous Operations with the use of unit maps and mapping displays located in unit premitting areas.

With Cascade, sites create their own permits based on local and state requirements.  Cascade doesn’t force you into doing it our way, we change Cascade to do it your way. We modify the templates to fit your workflow. Not the other way around like other tools. Cascade also provides templates for standard permits like:

  • Confined Space
  • Hot Work
  • Ground Disturbance
  • Energized Electrical
  • Equipment Isolation
  • Lifting Operations
  • Vehicle Entry

Cascade DC supports specialty permits including:

  • Inert Entry
  • Asbestos Abatement
  • Hot Tapping
  • Breaking Containment
  • Working on Equipment in Service

The software provides real-time reporting, accountability, and management features that are not possible with a paper-based system.

Cascade has standard document templates, but its power is in its ability to be easily modified by our team to match your existing work control documents and procedures.  We’ve also created tools in Cascade for:

  • Isolations
  • Turnaround Sign Offs
  • Risk Assessed Procedures
  • Additional Work Requests

For IT Management:

  • Cascade is built on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Best in class DDOS protection.
  • Data redundancy across geographic regions.
  • Guaranteed uptime 99.9%
  • Cascade supports authentication integration with your corporate Active Directory through SSO.
  • Cascade also provides multifactor authentication options.
  • Integrate with production systems using the Cascade DataLink and the Cascade API. Connect with any major ERP system that supports data integration.
  • Print from unattended kiosk stations using the Cascade Client Print.
  • One simple monthly licensing fee covers licensing, support and changes to documents and logic.

For Digital Security:

Cascade uses the ISO27001 Digital security standard as our basic approach to protecting our digital assets and our customer’s information.  Our company President acts as our CSO.  Even our ISMS is built using the Cascade platform.

Some other aspects of our security organization:

  • We maintain a comprehensive list of information assets.
  • We have key information security roles and responsibilities.
  • Our information security policy is aligned with ISO27001.
  • We include security requirements within our contracts with third party suppliers.
  • We use industry leading Cloud services to deliver the Cascade platform.

Cascade continually scans our information assets with a variety of different scanning tools.  Some scans are performed daily, while other are done weekly.  We conduct annual Penetration Testing using external partners who specialize in White Hat ethical hacking techniques.

We use a monitored Intrusion Detection System and Log Analyzers in our SOC to maintain a high level of threat detection.  A combination of MDR and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) coverage using two separate third party SOCs creates analytical overlap, detection redundancy and increased security.

Cascade performs weekly application scanning and yearly penetration testing to test the security of our system configuration, user management, and application security.

Cascade uses a “least privilege” method of restricting users to only the information they have authorization to access.  Every document is controlled by a security system  that restricts its use to only those who have the required role or permissions.

Cascade uses industry standard development security practices in our implementation pipelines.  OWASP and ISO 27001 standards drive our attention to development security.  Access control and change management is rigorously controlled.  We practice a Secure by Design methodology and perform security testing during each code update.

For Legal and Finance:

Cascade is a web application that is licensed for commercial use by Cascade LLC and/or its business partners.  Cascade is licensed as Software as a Service on a per user, per month basis.  The licensing service includes support, configuration changes, and use of the application.  All additional costs such as travel and training are provided as part of the implementation project but are not included in the price of the service.
